Hi Guys,
So ive been given my first appointment as AR to an FA Youth Cup prelim game, is there anything I should be knowing going into this? IE kit requirements those sort of things. I really want to impress in this fixture so any help I can get would be massively appreciated.

Make sure your footwear is clean and wear your County badge. ;)

As regards the game, assuming the referee is more experienced than yourself, listen carefully to their pre match brief and anything you're not sure of - ask!

Take your time with any signals and maintain eye contact with the referee every time you do. If unsure, delay your signal and use the ref as your lead.

Probably teaching you to suck eggs with the above advice mate but basics are always the best starting point.

Above all, concentrate for the full 90+ minutes and enjoy it. 👍
