The Ref Stop
Because the FA Trophy is just for step 1 to 4 clubs, games involving clubs at those steps are minimum L3 referee and L4 assistant. Whereas the FA Cup early rounds have step 5 and 6 clubs, who will regularly have L5/6/7 referees on their games as assistants for their league games.
Well I guess I’m lucky I’m appointed to preliminary round so 1 more higher is better I guess.

Which in respect of an early FA Cup tie includes officials who have allowed on a 6th sub from the 5-0 winning team in the 88th min, whereby the game has been ordered to be replayed. I would not like to be in their shoes. These things shouldn’t happen but they do.

The amount of ridiculous things referees do which we talk in our RA meetings is crazy which officials are higher levels sometimes I question how those people get high marks and observations

I get it, but on the other hand, my view has always been and which I have to believe is that over the course of the season those who get promoted deserve it & those who get demoted are sometimes unfortunate but the stats don’t lie. In between that there are officials who can have a very good game with lots of incidents with an Observer in attendance who has recognised what took place and if represented by a high mark is likely to place them in very good stead in the merit table for the rest of the season. As to the specific circumstance of the to be replayed FA Cup tie, my experience is that most errors come about from a lack of time taken on competition rules, though it could also be they just took their fingers off the pulse!

Sin bins were (mis)used in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round.
Including one instance where they corrected their error after 4 minutes.

At a game I was at the first 3 things the Referee said to his AR’s were no extra time/pens (therefore replay if a draw), no sin bins & 5 subs.
