The Ref Stop
I never really liked Real Madrid but I honestly despise them now. Pathetic from them. I wouldn't be surprised if RFEF referees start thinking about a strike soon after this.

Real Madrid are pathetic, continually calling out referees when things don’t go their way.

The answer is simple, they accept the referee appointment and turn up and play or forfeit the game.

That said, it doesn’t feel like a great idea parading the referee before a press conference.

In particular before an El Clasico cup final! In all fairness, that wasn't the wisest move that could have been made regarding the referee.

I hope not because if he does, then it will just create more unwanted headlines, you be hoping for the refs sake he has an uneventful game.
It's unlikely to happen but the best thing he can hope for now is an absolute drubbing one way or the other where he doesn't have anything to do!

I'm glad someone posted this. Real should have the book thrown at them, then the book should be picked back up and smashed over their head.

But it won't happen, which is the fundamental problem the world over.

If the Spanish refs walked out, they'd 100% have my support.

Well that may be on the agenda.......

RMTV's video is disgraceful and I'm glad the officials have had an opportunity to publicise what they are going through.
Also, professing the 'freedom of expression' of its media outlet while labelling the officials' statements as 'unacceptable' 😂

This ref is on a hiding to nothing before a ball is kicked.

Possibly a good idea to replace him due to all the noise? Or is that plain "giving in"?

Not sure.

It’s now a no win situation, but for me, I would like to see him remain on the game as otherwise it sends out completely the wrong message and clubs can dictate what they like.

I think there were 2-3 missed cautions for Real Madrid players in the first half but I don't want to criticise the ref too much as I think he was on a hiding to nothing before a ball was even kicked tonight and overall he generally did well in an extremely challenging match. Real Madrid were a disgrace all game but the incident at the very end in particular was awful.
