Ear moulds

Apologies if this info is already somewhere on the forum and I haven't been able to find it.

Having resisted so far, I think I am finally at the point where I have accepted an ear mould for comms is better than taping my ear up for my AR appointments. Had a very wet and then a very hot game at the end of last season and the tape lost its stickiness both times, which became an unwanted distraction.

Any recommendations on how to go about it much appreciated. I think previously I had heard that mould could be done locally and then sent off to a specialist ?

I'm thinking the same way tbh. Need to get one sorted ASAP.

I have had advice to do it and went to do it before, but I booked an appointment with specsavers for the mould and then when I turned up they told me I would need to book an appointment again...

The advice I had previously was to ask for a 'full shell impression to the second bend of the ear' and then post it to the following:

With a note detailing your address and contact phone number.

I believe the mould is about £20, and then it's about £100+VAT for the ear piece.


BUT... the above info is nearly 3 years out of date, so may be worth verifying.
