I'll Decide ...
My Saturday League have just informed me that my next fixture (this Saturday) will be as described above. A fixture involving both the home and away "leg" between both teams, played on the same day and (oddly) at the same venue.
This is presumably to counteract the effect of the huge backlog of postponed and as yet, unplayed fixtures that now looms owing to the appalling weather we seem to have had since before Christmas.
My first match will commence at 1.45pm, lasting 30 mins each way. The second ("return fixture") match will commence after a 15 minute interval immediately afterwards, again, 30 mins each way, and the complete fee for the day will be £35 for both fixtures as opposed to the normal £25 fee for the one match.
First time I've ever encountered this or heard of it before. Not a problem for me, makes sense in the grand scheme of things I suppose, but I wondered if any other members' Leagues were doing the same thing or indeed if they'd encountered this scheme before?
