The Ref Stop

Defective Ball

The Ref Stop
Clutching at straws here really. Short of hearing a sniper in crowed who shoots the ball after it was kicked ☺️, I will take the assumption the kick was the cause of ball becoming defective and retake.

Even with a sniper shooting the ball, I take the precedent of penalty kick "as it moved forward" and retake.

I think this is what the laws want, even though they have not worded it to cover every possible scenario.

This is a question from the FA LOTG promotional criteria exam which is still open.
@bester - do you want to wait until Sunday day once the Test closes to discuss the question/answer?
Suggest anyone who is L4+ in England does not contribute until the exam closes.

Perhaps we can also then have a discussion about the frustrating number of questions in this month's crop that either have more than one answer that is supportable in Law and/or are poorly worded !

Not just this month's. A few the wording has left the question open to interpretation.

Agree - I just thought this month's was particularly poor on that score.

I do think this needs sorting - it's not hard to pick questions with definitive answers, rather than creating a game of second guessing what the question setter is thinking

Not a problem if they are used for discussion in training, but completely different when the result is more important than club marks !

I was going to feedback via the reps at some point.
