Count down, or count up

I guarantee, once the season starts, they'll be crowds in the professional game that will be doing the countdown loudly for the referee to hear when the opposing keeper has control of the ball, once their own team has had a corner awarded against them

The Ref Stop
I've already had a think about this and decided that since there's no clear direction been given as to whether or not the referee should verbally count down for all to hear (I've been advised that the choice is a personal one - some will some won't want to) if and when it happens during my game, I think I'll just give the GK the 3 seconds grace after which I'll simply shout something like "Okay Keeper let's go please" before slowly raising my outstretched palm (or even just a clenched fist) to let them all know that I've started the 5 second count-down in my head.
If the GK is then stupid enough to see that and let me get to "6" then corner kick it is!
These events are unlikely to occur until the last 20 mins or so of a game (and even then not by the team thats losing) and my guess is that keepers won't want to be giving away more than one corner after it's happened.
The whole scenario throws up a few other "what ifs" but they're for a different thread ....

Form what I have seen from the top level referees so far, I don't think anyone is going to bother with the visual count anyway (I think Collina has to take some credit for that).

Most grassroot referees learn the laws not from the book, but from watching TV games.
