The FIFA ref I was on with this afternoon says they would have penalised Benzema.
I agree, and let's not forget that Salah had hold of Ramos initially.
He didn’t get the CL gig though! The FIFA ref I was on with this afternoon says they would have penalised Benzema.
Wow. And it's not being debated in the newspapers I read...The FIFA ref I was on with this afternoon says they would have penalised Benzema.

Does that make him anymore right than the level 7 grass roots ref that would have given it?
To Salah or Ramos? But Ramos made 100% sure that Salah was coming down with him....clear and obvious foul. Nothing more than a free kick.
All I would say is he can almost certainly apply the law better than you or I, and has the added benefit of seeing replays.

No, she did not.
No because...I’m just asking as it’s been widely debated on here as to the validity of the goal does that make a fifa pro ref anymore right than say a grass roots ref or lets say another fifa pro ref that would have given it.
But we don't have to sell anything MiB. Just give your decision and move on.......enough of this pandering to players!I have to agree it’s not gonna make our lives any easier, it’ll be known up & down the land as the Benzema rule!
We can’t agree on here so how the hell are we meant to sell it to a bunch on a Sunday morning.

What's the difference between that and this incident?Who said anything about jumping up to block a keeper?
What’s that gotta do with the price of eggs.
Hi
From what I see it comes down to the difference between intercepting and preventing. From my take on it Benzema does not go towards the GK or the ball just parallel. I would say more an interception so no foul for me.
Anyway I do not see any major outcry that Liverpool was done an injustice here. Most see the action as a howler by Karius rather than an uncalled clear offence. Something that you would see in an indoor five a side game rather than a CL final
If this had been a clear foul there would have been media uproar including social media. Instead both goalkeeping incidents were seen by most as mistakes by Karius. Yeah a ref could call an offence here yet it would have caused a significant fuss. I think the only ones debating this is referees who might see some possible offence in it. Anyone that I spoke to never mentioned foul just Karius' mistakes. Benzema should not have got within an ass's roar of the ball here yet he is able to stick out a leg 2/3 yards away and score a goal!
If we ask the following questions
Did Benzema challenge the GK?
Did Benzema restrict the GKs movement?
Did he interfere with the release of the ball?
Was any of the action dangerous or pose any risk to the GK?
All no for me.
All I saw was that Benzema guessed the path of the ball, stuck out a leg some 2 yards away and the ball hit him.
Great post GF, a measured and accurate synopsis of what we’ve all witnessed!Hi
