Yeah, really very, very similar. If blindfolded I'm not sure if I'd be able to tell which I'm using. I've actually just done a side-by-side test, albeit indoors with neighbours so can't really belt it.

What isn't the same is the finger grip. You only get one and it's too small. I can use either of the larger two grips that come with the valkeen so I out the spares on the knock-offs.

Good to know. I have a Valkeen and to be fair I haven't ever lost a whistle. The fox 40 in my ref kit is the same I bought 10-12 year ago when I qualified. But never say never and if Valkeens aren't out there (and let's face it not sure Mrs would be happy with another 30 quid on a whistle) there at least appears to be an alternative
