I'm not convinced it's a dive, but I'm also pretty sure it's not a penalty either. I think his right leg (knee/thigh) makes contact with the thigh of the defender, hence the lack of follow through.

Having watched the slowed down version posted by @one , I’m not as 100% confident it’s simulation (although it’s still on the table) but I’m still 100% sure in my mind that no foul is committed. Any lower body contact is as a result of the strikers excessive backswing for the shot and not a clumsy challenge by the defender.

Not really sure why I feel so strongly about this think it’s the initial post blaming the referee’s decision as more embarrassing than the dive (in the tweeters words) that got my back up
