Sad news out of France that Ligue 1 referee Johan Hamel has passed away at the young age of 42. Apparently he suffered a stroke whilst he was training. He was the VAR official in the PSG game on only Sunday. Such a sudden shock and loss to the refereeing community.

Thoughts on this incident? The Twitter comments are as you’d expect but I think Hesketh left the ref no choice. Can’t see how anyone can argue… you can’t touch an official.
