Was I right too to abandon

I agree with the action you took in abandoning the match. Clearly he was out of line. But wouldn't he have been dismissed for not behaving in a responsible manner? I'm being honest here, since some leagues probably allow the dismissal for OFFINABUS.

Well then. 2 years and some change away from football should be good for him. Fine should have been more though...

    Ball moving at IDFK

Only concern I'd have is "can I discern the movement of the ball"? If you can, no problems.

2 referee assaults in 2 days

My apologies. I should have clarified. Here in New York, that's what I meant.

2 referee assaults in 2 days

Wow... Here in the US people are afraid to even talk bad to referees because we have "Zero Tolerance".

    I got 1 up on a player

Brilliant. Caught him with that one.

    Regretted he said that.....

Thankfully, not a lot of people in the US make that claim... ;)

I'm pretty sure the USSF would ban him. Not sure how long though...

    A couple of incidents....

I can understand the concern. However, as it has been stated, it is our job to show that the player is being sanctioned (be it yellow or red). Even if it seems "inflammatory", it needs to be done, and professionally since that's how we maintain our image.

A well done match my friend. And caught on video too! I'd be proud of that.

    Eventful Charity Match

I'd have sent him off after the FIRST outburst. Also, just because the event is a charity match, doesn't give anyone leniency to do whatever they want.

Common sense or Letter of the law?

@HullRef Look man, I understand your empathy, and if it weren't a mandatory send off, I think many people would agree with your views. But when the situation requires a send-off, no matter the score or importance, you have to follow the law and send the player.I know it can be painful and...

    There goes my theory.

Even in my games here in the US it never gets this bad...

Common sense or Letter of the law?

I hate to say it, but that card needs to come out if you said that. From the OP, it sounds like it was a 100% going to be a red. Score doesn't matter when it comes to the law. Alas, as to why the teams continued to play after even 9-0 is beyond me:eek:

    Two defenders challenging DOGSO??

To me, the one on the left did commit the foul first, giving a shoulder, which then proceeded to trip up the forward. And since the forward was clear on goal with no one else around, straight red for DOGSO.

Ask, Tell, Remove must be universal... Seems it is used in England as well as across the pond in the US. Thankfully, so far I haven't needed to get a CR involved as an AR... Though I did throw a coach out in a U11 match for arguing with me over an Offside I couldn't tell... and with no AR's to...

    Junior/Youth Match Anbandoned - it's a farce!

To be fair, I have yet to abandon a match due to anything (usually they get called off before I go but only by a few hours!). I personally consider myself very lucky that I haven't needed to abandon or even postpone a match in my short career thus far... (and now watch as in the next year I'll...
