Did game. Away team paid their half. Home team asked me to message bank details and they will transfer money. Payment not received despite promises and chasers. Process is to report to league for normal games.
What do I do though for friendly game?
If you ignore you will have opposition on your back. I tell goalie if he walks after ball I will stop watch until he restarts play but if he runs after ball at a jogging pace I will keep watch ticking. It always solves the problem even though I did not intend to stop my watch.
I once sent an under 11 defender off for tipping a goal bound shot over the bar when he was stood on the line. His team was loosing 17-0 at the time. I felt really bad about issuing the red card but everyone accepted the decision. It was in the days when written report was submitted and...
You should not have shown a red card for a sin bin caution plus another caution. You should have been given a card to keep in your matchday scorecard wallet as to process for yellow cards involving sin bins.
I tell the player I am dropping the ball to what he is now allowed to do and I am saying it loud enough so that nearby players can hear me. Why - because most players don't understand law change.
How long left ref. I don't like getting distracted by taking eye off match to look at my watch, so I state I will let you know at next break of play. I then do this very loudly so most players will hear me.
Usually by text. yes they have mobile phones but just don't use internet. They have no wifi at home and having never used email etc are just scared to take the plunge with this technology.
There are referees who have no internet access and so miss out on most updates, which could explain why they are unaware of law changes. I am aware of 3 I have come across this season, all good referees who have been promoted many years ago. They register each season manually and still submit...
When I do the pre-match equipment check I remind all of the players about sinbins and tell them not to put me in a position where I may have to implement it. So if they disagree with a decision not to do or say anything. It is working for me only had to use it twice so far this season as I am...
You need to be very clear in your pre match briefing to CAR. Tell him only to flag when player has touched the ball or challenged a defender explaining clearly exactly what the latter means. As soon as CAR sticks flag up when he shouldn't wave him down with a clear NO play on and at next...
You can manage being registered with more than 1 league. what you need to do is as soon as one league appoint you to a game is to advise the other league(s) of your unavailability immediately to avoid a double booking. This happens to me at the end of the season when all of the leagues I am with...
My understanding is that they don't count towards a suspension for a friendly game but 5 yellows in non friendly game equals 1 match suspension if before first cut off date.
If you issue the second yellow card to player already in sin bin then I presume he can remain on the touch line and can not be sent to the dressing room as no red card issued. If he then commits further dissent or gives an outburst of offensive or insulting language what do we do then ?
Saturday December 15th 2018. afternoon game.real feel temperature minus 7 plus lashing it down with rain. I wore my black beenie hat and both goalkeepers plus 1 outfield player wore hats. having read this thread one of them was non compliant as it had a bobble on the top but I did not know finer...
This punch up was a result of Francis Lee diving to win a penalty, when Norman Hunter had not touched him. Diving was far rarer back then but Francis Lee was known for it and if memory serves me right I think he scored a record 13 penalties in one season.
