    Brighton v Arsenal

Think this is the definitive post on the matter. Move on, it was a penalty
  2. Tim Punter

2 mass cons in one game

Yes, true, didn't want to come across as the officials have absolutely no part to play, a bit like teaching, as there are a lot of things you can be doing to stop any silly nonsense before it blows up
  3. Tim Punter

2 mass cons in one game

"as the officials feel like you are losing control" My old headteacher once said, "You can't control pupils' behaviour, you can only control your own" This is Something I always remember when it all starts kicking off!
  4. Tim Punter

    West Ham v Brighton

That is really poor, he clearly raises his foot and seems to be following a recent trend of going too far the other way this season on the leniency scale, especially considering that tackles like Curtis Jones last year were nowhere near as bad as this and some recent possible leg-breakers.
  5. Tim Punter

    Liv vs Ful

Seems to be the considered opinion of now Dermot Gallagher and Dale Johnson that the red card was wrong. Interesting to hear views, as watching I thought it was clear, but reading the explanations there wasn’t a clear GSO...
  6. Tim Punter

    Everton v Brentford

A lot worse this weekend not given as reds, The Chelsea game and Lallana. Also Pickford's assault on VVD was a lot worse a few seasons ago
  7. Tim Punter

    Southampton v Liverpool

Silly tackle by Robertso, but surprised Michael Oliver deemed there to be " no conclusive evidence that the contact occurred outside the penalty area." Evidence seemed pretty clear
  8. Tim Punter

    Liverpool vs Aston villa

Good picture here, waiving away a player being wrestled to the ground
  9. Tim Punter

    Liverpool vs Aston villa

Yes, that's weirder, if he didn't think that was a foul?
  10. Tim Punter

    Liverpool vs Aston villa

Yes, can't understand why Bailey's DOGSO attempt, wasn't downgraded to a yellow, as he played advantage, unless I am reading the LOTG wrong?
  11. Tim Punter

    Rice red card

Absolutely ridiculous this wasn’t a yellow card, look how far Arteta is out of his technical area, and does it for most of the game. Where’s the consistency?

    Fitness test

Thanks, have now found some videos based on that
  13. Tim Punter

    Fitness test

Thanks for your advice. I have cancelled the 3G one and booked a track one in mid-August. Might do one in astros, as I feel the grip would help, as my normal running shoes didn't seem to. Maybe I am looking for excuses, but I do need some 'marginal gains'
  14. Tim Punter

    Fitness test

Thanks, go again Thursday, so will give it my all, and have been practising with ankle weights, so should be flying by Thursday!!
  15. Tim Punter

    Fitness test

Absolutely agree. I had no complaints as it was an electronic gate, so being .0.2 seconds out was harsh, but I trusted the process. Have another go on Thursday, but this time on 3G rather than a running track, so not sure if this will be easier, as I did feel I didn#t have much grip on the...
  16. Tim Punter

    Fitness test

That is ridiculous, as I failed my L4 sprints yesterday. All very official 1.5m cone to the electronic start gate. My two times were 6.4 seconds, so missed out by 0.2. Will give it another go in a couple of weeks, but will knock reffing on the head if I don't get through the fitness tests...
  17. Tim Punter

    NED V TUR

He is the best in the business. So calm, and seems to instinctively know when a player has dived or fouled. A fantastic watch
  18. Tim Punter

    GER v SCO - Euro 24

Yes, he is great to watch, and somebody to aspire to. Seems to actually enjoy being there, and living the moment
  19. Tim Punter

    GER v SCO - Euro 24

Hope so. Yes, Turpin can carry it off, as he is so calm, and unfussed and has a brilliant air of confidence about him. He is so good to watch as a ref
  20. Tim Punter

    GER v SCO - Euro 24

Thanks for the clarification, yes just read that story and Googled it after your post. So sounds unlikely to be in grassroots next season, which is a shame.
