    Mura vs Celje

Sorry i cant see I can’t see a penalty here, referee spot on GK wins the ball then striker collides with him. Good call defensive free kick.

    Djed Spence’s boot

How do we see this, should we as referees allow the player to return to their position if they are putting their boot back on? https://www.skysports.com/football/video/30998/13460322/newcastle-vs-tottenham-should-fabian-schars-opening-goal-have-stood

    Numbers on shirts

SCOR the UK version, as Chas says 19G. 🙏 In this case yes, for the Manchester County Cup, a £10 fine. https://www.thefa.com/-/media/cfa/cheshirefa/files/about/scor---for-24-25-clean.ashx https://www.thefa.com/-/media/cfa/manchesterfa/files/cc-25-26-docs-ew/adult-competition-rules-2526.ashx

    Numbers on shirts

Shocking Sunday morning violent conduct & mass brawl, match was abandoned. My question are shirt numbers compulsory? In a mass confrontation, very hard for any referee to identify culprits if they do not have shirt numbers. IFAB compulsory in law, shirts must have sleeves...

    FA Vase

This part of law would get you to the right answer, the GK not taking a kick would not be an eligible player. During penalties (penalty shoot-out) Only eligible players and match officials are permitted to remain on the field of play.

    FA Vase

To me that is the key part, the law is consistent in the early part calling it ‘the penalty shoot-out’. Then references, ‘any excluded player is not eligible to take part in the kicks’. I would conclude if IFAB meant ‘excluded from the penalty shoot-out’ why then switch to use ‘the kicks’...

    FA Vase

Interesting error which may have caught many of us out? Most us know a player has to be nominated to not take a penalty, to even up if a team has ten players. In this case it was the GK nominated, who would not take a penalty, but he then should not have been in goal saving the penalties...

    Olympiacos Second Yellow

I guess most people want to see a strong yellow card if it is the second yellow. One for IFAB is they do bring in reviews for second yellows.

    PSG Red card

Interesting PSG player in Red is sent off for DOGSO. Thoughts? If you were VAR are you getting involved? https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxXIVYFTHMcgYA9u1CV8UzSgIbO8cL0_ST?si=G8doFBAHOSMPxd9w

    Grimsby vs Gillingham

IMO wouldn’t be supporting the referee team on the DOGSO, offside ruled out goal or the penalty. Second Yellow plus Red inside three minutes for Williams I would support! Credit to Richard Dobson, Gillingham manager, was very respectful in his post match interview despite taking a caution...

Dundee v Livingston - rejected VAR review

I’m an outlier too, I am comfortable with a penalty, watching it a full speed, does the striker initiate the contact, I’m not sure?

    Anthony Taylor BBC Interview

I think Anthony Taylor comes across well & makes some very good points, very eloquently. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c2dn9lkp0e5o

    Brentford vs Chelsea

It does seem inconsistent with this interpretation of offside last year? From 2.08 https://www.skysports.com/football/video/11095/13263406/brighton-1-1-southampton-premier-league-highlights

    City Vs Spurs

I don’t think we can say VAR is inconsistent, referees on this forum can’t agree on SPF, DOGSO, handball, no foul, football refereeing and decision making is so subjective, so it appears inconsistent.
  15. D

    Fulham vs Utd

I agree with MOTD analysis, Shaw was fouling simultaneously so no need for VAR to get involved, for me the goal a clear foul, only reason for the two handed push was to gain a clear advantage.

    BOU v MUN

Was at the game, player & bench reaction, suggested yellow was fine. I feel the VAR intervention was unnecessary, nobody at the ground expected it. Peter Bankes didn't really take charge of the game, many of his decisions were delayed as if he someone was in his ear, which is why he may have...

    Arsenal vs Chelsea

Interesting, if advantage was played? (It wasn’t) Arsenal had two good opportunities to score, would VAR have then given them a third from the penalty spot if they deemed it hand ball?

    Automated offside

I guess we’ll have to get used to these given offside, I’m sure original law makers viewed offside as gaining an advantage, IMHO this forensic analysis just chalks goals & excitement off. (A non VAR enthusiast). Might we move to feet, then this would be given on-side, but probably only in...

    Liverpool vs Southampton

Good point, there is a slight touch, but the goal scorer is probably behind the ball? https://youtube.com/clip/Ugkx1KMXPconTf1oMlEYO-IWkEfP5FZIu2zv?si=CAksQyVM2mpYl0je
