WSL Crystal Palace v Everton rules breach

Argh that’s annoying for the officials. We’ve had “3 sub events” in lots of competitions for a long time and I’ve learnt the hard way as AR to always mark my card - and also always remind the bench at the second and third “event”. No surprises! It is getting more complex though. In most...

    Small Earrings

There’s a CE standard for shinpads. The smart thing to do would be to have that in competition rules in regions/countries where it can apply. This would force upstart mini-pad manufacturers to get certified. Here we still look to see there are shinpads. But we’ve been told not to check studs...

    Maguire hb yay or nay

I think there are great stills of Harry, one arm up quite high, that make it look a lot like making the body unnaturally bigger to block the clearance. Given the guidance and laws, I am happy with ItootR here. And I would blow very fast before the next touch if I was in a similar situation and...

    Maguire hb yay or nay

I am happy with self defence at u12. But for any serious level, deliberately blocking the ball with the arms is a deliberate hb offence for me.

    Maguire hb yay or nay

Looks like deliberate handball to me. What else explains the movement and position of his arms?

Looks clear and obvious to me.

Interesting situation. I had a pair of these at the weekend… but this was a big one on TV…

    Liverpool v Nottm Forest

Why even have boards at prem grounds with giant screens. Surely the EPL could ditch the boards completely. Seems archaic at this point. The 4th could still do the job… have an app that informs the scoreboard VJ…

West Brom 2 game ban for handball

Ah brilliant info, thanks. If this is in the FA code, does this not apply to the Premier League? Any thoughts or info if this has been used more or is likely to be used more?

West Brom 2 game ban for handball

https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/c7vg26r2yd1o How on earth can they do this under the current competition and LotG framework? My firm belief is that retrospective punishment would be hugely beneficial for football - but until it is actually implemented and any additional criteria...

    my poor Spintso

My strap also snapped - i ordered a replacement - then the whole watch died. I still have unused strap - in another country tho and promised to a colleague;)

    UEFA World Cup boycott

Comes days after all associations backed Sycofantino. Our local FA even ran press to explain why they were supporting him. Not aged well.

Young ref and a shirtless club lino call an offside then give a "deadball" goal

I still do not understand why some countries persist with club linos. In my humble experience we are better off without them and the game benefits.

An Introduction - The Match Record

In my fair corner of the universe I use the thick ref cards but never use the given colour coded layout. I should make my own really. If AR I need starting numbers, sub numbers, room to list max 7 bench names, then to be able to log 7 sub events. If ref, just numbers/times for goals and cards...

    Spain-Argentina

They also have penguins, desert, skiing, mountains, waterfalls, whales, Wales (well, large chunks thereof), as well as the fine wines. Doesn’t mean Otamendi isn’t a much cuter diver than Spence🤩

    The future of refereeing

Hmm I think the main problem is the chaos refereeing and lack of application of the laws at televised matches - not just the WC, see also EPL etc. Pundits gonna pundit.

An Introduction - The Match Record

Great idea. Suggest you include more info about size and weight and show real world images “in the hands”. For me, impossible to buy based on the given info.

    Spain-Argentina

Our season continues in a few weeks - July is a summer break - and the first thing I will tell the coaches is to forget the world cup, we are back to normal, remember the laws about dissent, delay of game, bench behaviour and only the captain, remind the players if you like, and… let’s enjoy...

    Spain-Argentina

I don’t mind the disallowed goal. Looked like there could have been some contact, partial tread on toes, and Otamendi sold it well and early. But the missed yellow for Fernandez in the first half, “one-way” game management at added half time, the lack of cards for blatant delay of game… urgh…...
