In my experience of tournament football, some of the goals that we are expected to use are not really fit for purpose! Plastic 8' x 6' goals that are usually only used for under 10s and below, suddenly having under 15 / 16s smashing shots at them for multiple matches (and in between). Also...

How about wearing it, and when asked by the referee to leave the field to 'correct the equipment' agree to do that. Makes the point, and avoids a caution....??

When I used to be CAR for my kids, I always used to give the oppo throw ins that could have gone either way. I felt this allowed me to build trust with the referee for when I flagged for a player through on goal which might have been 'marginal' ;)

@SurreyWolves - were you reffing a home team in yellow / green? Away team had 2 in sin bin - with the second one upgraded as you've described. I thought the referee in that game handled it well - definitely a tough game, between two teams who clearly don't like each other! If it was you, I...

That also appears to be outside the area - so if ref decides 'no handball', no reason for VAR to get involved...

Thanks One.... I've read and re-read that and understand what you're saying..... However, how can the ball 'remain on the field of play' and 'go directly into the goal'? If the ball goes into the goal, it's out of play... and then, by the same logic, if the ball goes out for a throw or GK...

At youth level, I always give a shout to the keepers and Club ARs. Gives me an excuse to use the CARs name... hopefully they're impressed that I've remembered their names!!

Think I've managed to pause the video at precisely the right moment as the ball disappears behind the post... and in the goal...

IF VAR had considered both offences to be worthy of red cards, would we have seen two red cards? Surely, the referee should not have been playing advantage from the first offence and therefore the DOGSO cannot happen?? RC for Hause and a FK back at that point? Or is that not correct?
