    CHE Spurs

My point is that TV games set player / manager / supporter expectations and at the 'Dog & Duck', either of the examples I gave are highly likely to end with a mass-con and you're then 'on your own'. As a fan - great game, not so much for next weeks ref.

    CHE Spurs

As Jamie Carragher commented "a great match for the fans". But for the vast majority of refs, ignoring the VC (using hair to pull your opponent to the ground) and the touchline nonsense (Touchel should have been long gone before the end); has made our jobs 10-times more difficult. Either the...

    Level 4 Observer Reports

I just don't get the "stay wide" instruction, it makes no sense to me to deliberately take a position that "on average" puts you out of position and can let subsequent play "trap you" out wide. "On average" I favour the intersection of the centre circle with the halfway line looking along the...

    Bradford v Doncaster

Happy to see red, pick any two from three offences. Great to see a positive lesson at this level - let's have more.

    Heading ban for u12s (England)

Why make this so complicated? Simply have a no drop kick rule for keepers and eliminate 99% of the issue. These are the header's that children get wrong and cause issues. At the same time you're encouraging them (actually coaches) to play football instead of route one punting.

    Getting the small things right

"If I can't determine" - so perhaps 2 or 3 times in a match, depends on AR, NAR or No One, to help. I'm saying better to openly state "couldn't see" and therefore "defence ball", rather than 'guess' and find that 20-fans and half-a-dozen players could actually see and 'know' you're blagging it...

    Getting the small things right

If I can’t determine which way a throw should go, I’ll say so, and go with “defence ball”. It’s the one place on the pitch where others (spectators & players) often have a better position than yourself (you’re infield, contesting players are between you and the ball, often there are a lot of...

I'm still a 6 according to WGS! They've been working on correcting it for a year now 🤷‍♀️

    Everton vs City

I's suggest that common sense says that a ball hitting the underside of the arm automatically means that it passes the armpit line test?

    Roma Goalkeeper Red Card

I was watching her position after the first kick, she retreats to the side of the goal (and not towards the net). On that basis, although it looks like a pass, I don't think that's what she intended.

    Roma Goalkeeper Red Card

Looks like the keeper is "placing the ball" (as she then takes up a position to kick). Unfortunately uses her feet instead of hands to place the ball. Retake kick.

    Everton vs City

Football thread mate. Rangers Man City Irrelevant who. It's a VAR issue.

    Everton vs City

Another VAR decision that makes no sense. Clearly sticks arm out to control the ball. Clear penalty. You can have 100 armpit offside decisions, but only takes one like this to negate all of them. Either provide the audio like rugby, which would hopefully eradicate these inexplicable decisions...

    Rangers vs Dortmund

Dortmund player clearly kicks Rangers player on the back of the ankle. Biggest shock is that VAR is used to give free kick to Dortmund! Get them to publicly talk through the decision (as per rugby) and this sort of clearly wrong call wouldn't be possible.

    Burnley v man utd

Spell checker - don't know where "third" came from - penalty area. The "offence" (Maquire doesn't even look at the player) is both minor and too far from the eventual play for me.

    Burnley v man utd

It was on when I got in, so assumed it was on main sports. Man utd free kick, defence lined up on the edge of third box, Maguire goes too soon into an offside position and stops. Free kick headed in from 6yds out by Varane. VAR see's that Maquire "blocked" defender. Neither defender nor Maquire...

    Burnley v man utd

Nonsense from VAR. There was no impact from the Maguire offside decision. Surely a player blocked has got to be at least close to challenging for the ball?

    A bit of DIY

I used to be a stop-&-check person after going 100-yds in the car, until a couple of years ago I put an old pair of boots in the car, followed by a 2nd hand kit, old flags and a notebook. Only had to use the spare boots once and no more fretting.
