    Refereeing wearing a cap

Golf clothing ranges usually have more subtle branding, I've always got a really lightweight black addidas cap in my bag. It's bloody excellent for low winter sun morning ko's

    Ifab website law confusion

    All cleared up now.....

    Ifab website law confusion

Has it ever mattered if the ball came from a team mate or from an opponent?

    Ifab website law confusion

Please forgive me if I'm being dumb, it was my understanding that no handball offence if the ball came off your own body onto hand/arm was removed from the lotg a couple of seasons ago. I certainly can't see it in the FA lotg, but it still features on the ifab "what happens if" below this years...

    Youth 11-a-side (U13 to U16)

My 80 minute games are usually 3.9-4.2 miles

    Sunderland Cambridge

I didn't think this would happen but I'm very happy about it. " Lloyd Jones will be available for Cambridge United's next fixture following a successful claim of wrongful dismissal... The defender was sent off for denying a goalscoring opportunity in the EFL League One fixture against...

    Sunderland Cambridge

It's assumed it was given for dogso

    Sunderland Cambridge

Apologies for the poor video, I'm interested in your opinions on this penalty and whether it warranted a straight red for the defender. It seems massively harsh to me but I'm a Cambridge fan so admittedly it's hard to be objective.

    West Ham Burnley penalty miss.

He made it back as the penalty was taken though which is pretty amazing

    Garmin Watch

I use the free refsix app on my garmin fenix 5, it's decent if a little clunky. I like that it pings the match straight to strava and that you can change match times, I wish there was a quick match option, just names and length.

    Spurs vs Chelsea

    The replies are brilliant

How far do you typically run when in the middle or as an AR?

I'm usually doing 80 minute matches for U15's and always seem to be 3.9-4.2 miles.

    Newcastle keeper trying a DeGea

Cambridge fan here, still recovering from a great day out..... I think May (offside Centre mid, played on) rakes the thigh of the keeper in that 1st challenge, there is an element of control of the ball by the keeper in that next phase too. I still think we are a bit lucky it wasn't chalked off...

Recording game for the ahem... older ref

I write scores straight onto my yellow card with a sharpie, they wipe off with a dash of lynx deodorant. I found taking bookings on the card a bit messy so use the standard ref cards for that.

    One or two watches

Ah, I misunderstood your 1st post then. I do only take one whistle onto the pitch though, now I'm going to be nervous about it somehow failing

    One or two watches

Pretty sure using two watches was common place before the joys of fitness trackers

    One or two watches

My garmin or refsix crashed after 35 minutes in the second half last week, thankfully i was wearing a casio on the other wrist

    QPR v Sunderland

Could it be from the original cross? Looks marginal without being in line but his leg is definitely off/in line when the ball is played.

    U18 Referee Abuse

Well done for not just walking away, I'm not sure what I'd have done in the same situation. I'm new to this myself so can't advise re. the match report, do you still have email contact with the referees who ran your course? They might help

    A few things

Sorry to resurrect an old one, I'm fairly lost with shoulder to shoulder contact. I'm happy with contact if both players are running in the same direction but have been pulling them up once there is any aggressive leaning on an opponent or any momentum in the contact ie. they barge into the...
