Crewe v Bristol Rovers - Keeper Error (DOGSO-H?)

No a DOGSO offence does not only apply when the offending player is already 'beaten', and alternative options available to the offender is not a consideration. A goalkeeper handling outside their own penalty area is supposed to be penalised in the same manner as any other player.

Crewe v Bristol Rovers - Keeper Error (DOGSO-H?)

The ball was loose and the goalkeeper took the risk by going for it with his hands. The wide angle clearly shows it is an OGSO.

    Mic’d up

I too would have preferred SFP for this challenge, it reminded me a bit of Lisandro Martinez's 'stamp'. Arias left the ground late and his action was dangerous and uncontrolled. Kavanagh and Webb seemed happy to focus on the outcome above everything else.

    Women's game pathway + men's

The women's progression pathway is in a bit of flux at the moment as there are significantly more Level 3W officials than The FA wants to maintain. The updated performance criteria could result in a lot of reclassifications to Level 4W. The numbers being promoted to 3W could be more limited than...

First match abandonment & mass con

Pushing / pulling usually comes under physical contact because it is an action 'unlikely to cause injury'.

First match abandonment & mass con

They are very likely to contest the charge as the minimum ban for that offence is about 6 months, but it is a clear cut case then they might still admit to it to help them avoid an even longer ban.

First match abandonment & mass con

Well done on dealing with things properly, hopefully the culprit will get what's coming to him. The RA also has guidance here https://www.the-ra.org/news/guidance-regarding-assaults-on-match-officials

    County RDO'S

Some CFAs seem to be trying to make themselves defunct with decisions like that and outsourcing their discipline to a for-profit company.

    Goalkeeper Releasing the Ball

Before this season, Law 12 stated that a goalkeeper is considered in control of the ball with their hands 'by touching it with any part of the hands or arms, except if the ball rebounds from the goalkeeper or the goalkeeper has made a save'. However IFAB has now deleted that particular text...

    Sunderland v Everton

It wasn't particularly, see my screenshot above. No they can't. If a defender's arm position makes their body unnaturally bigger and is not due to the overall body movement then it is handball.

    Sunderland v Everton

This actually hits his left arm first which is not extended much, and does not appear definitive whether it goes on to hit his right arm. Don't think VAR would intervene whether penalised or not, and I think it would be harsh to penalise given the overall body movement.

    Cheltenham v Bradford Free Kick

Clip starts very slightly earlier here Vanishing spray has been used so this is clearly an 'on the whistle' FK. Looks like ref delays his whistle while thinking about whether to intervene on the holding in front of him. Whistling at the moment the free kick is being taken always risks causing...

    PSV v Napoli OFFINABUS

3:02 - any ideas what was said here?!

    Rant with a question

It doesn't sound like you have much personal experience of this referee, and are prejudging what will happen based on their age and a past incident?

Open Age Not so much an incident

Just for avoidance of doubt 'Senior Cup' means the highest level trophy awarded by the county and has nothing to do with player age.

Ref Portal - S7 Second yellow

Should be just the dismissal as it asks for the caution details. It was the same with Whole Game System.

Changed drop ball law … devil in the detail

Order of likelihood: Dropped ball to GK if the ball enters the goal, changes possession or a promising attack starts while the ball is inside the penalty area Goal kick if the ball passes over the goal line but does not enter the goal Dropped ball to attacking team if not clear that the GK /...

    Celtic vs Braga

I don't see why there would be a referee announcement anyway if his on-field decision has been upheld.

    Darren England VAR

Just seen the Gusto incident. I am flabbergasted at no intervention for that. The Arsenal penalty intervention I can understand if Gillett said over comms he saw no contact on ball, but I'm still baffled why that is considered a clear and obvious error while the Gusto challenge isn't. It just...

    Penalty ref!

Looks like Everton player Rosa van Gool may have gone down looking for a penalty, not realising she has actually collided with the ref Sophie Dennington? 😅 (1:31)
