    Have you ever ...

Saw this and it got me wondering, how many of us have gone to the wrong ground, or perhaps on the wrong day? A referee I know (100% not me) caused a step 3 game to be delayed after he drove himself and his colleagues to the secretary's house, sure they would have been made welcome but the...

    Charlton vs Sheffield Wednesday

Interesting one here. Wednesday keeper completely takes out the Charlton striker, the referee clearly initially missed it as you see him running off and playing on, can only assume he got some help over comms. Can't be any doubt at the red card, but what I think is interesting is they...

    Three penalties missed

Don't see this very often. Penalty 1 saved but retaken for outfield encroachment, penalty 2 saved for keeper encroachment, penalty 3 saved legally (just about). What is incredible is the commentator's complete lack of understanding around why the second penalty was retaken (you need audio on).

    Graham Scott on VAR

Kind of on TV, if watching radio on TV counts 😂 Don't know if people heard this earlier, but Graham Scott was interviewed on talkSPORT this afternoon. Always thought he'd be an interesting case once he left PGMOL as he has a background in journalism and was always likely to say what he...

    Keeper water bottle

Posting this off the back of Hannah Hampton admitting this week that she threw the Spanish keeper’s water bottle into the England fans after she saw it had penalty details on it. If you saw this would you take any action?

Sheffield United vs Sunderland, Play off Final

Posts normally only get started when controversial issues have occurred, none of those in this game and Chris Kavanagh and team were superb. VAR had to get involved for an offside but can understand why it wasn't given by the AR, Vinicious Souza wasn't directly in front of the keeper but he...

    Arsenal vs Lyon

Thoughts on this penalty, from the corner from 5:40 in the video. I was at the game, no one had any clue there was a review going on and when a penalty was given everyone was baffled. I'm really not seeing it, yes there is contact from the keeper on Leah Williamson but it was fairly minimal...

    AFC Bournemouth vs Wolves

Huge problems with VAR in this game. Bournemouth thought they had gone 2 up but there was a question as to whether the goal scorer had accidentally handled the ball. Was very difficult to tell, and they eventually went on decide it hadn't and then went to check offside. At that point the...

Chelsea vs West Ham - Inappropriate VAR Use?

As we know, the commentators can hear the VAR discussions but not the audio from the on-field officials. Given this there were two very strange things tonight, firstly the commentator said that VAR (Michael Salisbury) had told Stuart Attwell to hold a restart as there were training cones on or...

    Derby vs Sunderland

Pick the bones out of this one, from around 1:59. Sunderland score, it clearly isn't offside, referee and AR both move into positions expected following a goal, yet around 30 seconds later the goal is disallowed. I am genuinely baffled given there is no VAR...

    Spurs vs Liverpool

Real controversy in this one. Bergvall, already on a caution, absolutely takes out Tsimikas with what can only be described as a reckless challenge. Stuart Attwell plays advantage but then doesn't go back to caution Bergvall. Tsimikas needed treatment following the foul so had to go off after...

Sheffield Wednesday vs Stoke City - Sam Allison

I was at this one and there were so many talking points around decisions I thought it was worth a thread. As a Wednesday fan we probably got the rub of the green with the decisions, but be interested in views from others. Times in the video below ... 0:30. Bernard makes a complete mess of a...

    A very strange decision

This one is a bit of a shocker from tonight in the Europa Conference League. Bad enough that he goes yellow in the first place, but to then be told he has perhaps made a clear and obvious error and to go and have a look, only to decide he hasn't and stick with his original decision defies...

    Kit clash

This is utterly baffling, I have no idea how this wasn't spotted hours before kick off. Even the shorts and socks clash let alone the shirts 🤷‍♂️ https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cy4ypyn3lz1o

    A worthwhile cause

At the moment there is a referee and his friends cycling from London to Olso for charity. Full details of the reason why can be seen in the link below, but in summary a UK female referee at last year's Norway Cup was within minutes of dying following a seemingly innocuous case of getting hit in...

Why explaining decisions probably won't make any difference

I've mentioned previously about why I think referees explaining VAR decisions might be a bit pointless, as pundits will just disagree with them. This video backs up that theory perfectly, Mike Dean explains very clearly why the referee can't change a decision once play has restarted but Paul...

    Head injuries in penalty area

I'm starting to think that PGMOL have told referees to always restart with the ball dropped to the defensive team when play is stopped due to a defending player being down with a head injury in their own penalty area. There was obviously the high profile Forest vs Liverpool incident, but it...

    Wolves vs Coventry

An incident in this one that sums up the lengths teams will go to these days to get a tactical advantage. Around 12 minutes into the first half and Wolves had a corner, before it could be taken their keeper, Jose Sa, went down injured. Gary O'Neill got most of his players over and was showing...
