Nice one! I'm very new to but I'm just doing smaller youth games at the moment (U9s-U13s), and when I'm in the car driving to the game I get intense butterflies but I find as soon as I get onto the field it's all ok.

Don't want to seem sexist or anything, just curious what is the contrast like between boy's youth and girl's youth football? I've been assigned an U13 girl's game. Any tips or anything before going into it? Highest I've done so far is U12 boys. Cheers x

UPDATE - I had the next game after last week's incident today! It went very well, coaches were a lot friendlier, and was an all-round good match. One penalty and a few silly fouls given away, a little bit of mouth from the crowd but nothing I couldn't cope with haha Thanks for all your support...

Yes. The same age group. It has not put me off, if anything it's made me more inspired almost to continue - things like what happened last week was what I was scared and nervous about before every game, now it's happened, I'm not so nervous.

U12s in my experience can be a bit more physical to each other leading to more fouls given, don't fret to give a yellow card just because they're younger, they should know basic rules by then. Ignore the parents and remember U11/U12s have CARs.
