    Double Red Card??

No it's a white paper report for everything once you've shown the initial red.

    We're a diverse lot....

33 about to turn 34 in a few weeks, Warrant Officer Class Two in the Army, my Corps being the Royal Electrical & Mechanical Engineers. Married but no kids, but with one crazy Westie. Currently enjoying my spell living in Germany despite it being absolutely freezing out here.

Junior/Youth When asked how much time ref , how do you respond?

Ditto, if it's a lull in play I'll tell them the remaining time, plus the token "plus injury time" added on.

    handball is an offence ref!

I had a cracker the other day, was AR on a game when a player clearly uses his arm to stop the ball. As the ref gives the free kick he shouts "it can't be handball, I hit it with my elbow on purpose". Cue yellow card and much laughter.

    Why go for promotion?

My natural ambition prevents me from wishing to stand still, I am driven to do as well as I can but I must say some recent events have made me reassess my view on refereeing, I believe it's called being disillusioned. Currently I think I'd be happy to get to 5, maybe 4 then after a few years get...

    Everton vs West Ham

I was more concerned how the AR failed to spot Lukaku about three yards offside than anything else. The advantage played by Clattenburg was one of those moments that puts a massive grin on your face and it all worthwhile.

Little help from the Welsh (or anyone who knows)

What I imagine you're better off doing is transfering over to the Welsh FA entirely for time of your studies, unless of course you are intent on returning to England on the weekends. As a 7 you'll be a 4a in Wales unles they revert back to the proper system. What ever you do don't allow them...

    Restarting play after incorrect decision.

BOOM! And there it is, I did exactly this yesterday and was told by assessor afterwards I was wrong in law. I am awaiting to see if he includes it in the report. Cheers.

    Restarting play after incorrect decision.

Take the following example: centre forward is stood offside but not interfering, ball lobbed over defence and AR lifts flag and you blow instinctively and immediately realise the guy wasn't interfering in anyway. Attackers go crazy as winger who was onside had a chance to run onto it. You...

Doing the right thing over doing the right thing.

I certainly told him I was uncomfortable with the idea of not giving a decision that I knew was correct purely to try and protect my ARs integrity in the eyes of the players, it seems like some kind of weird reverse logic seeing as the players will just think we're all crap when we get it wrong...

Doing the right thing over doing the right thing.

Yep spoke to her at half time, told her to relax and take her time.

Doing the right thing over doing the right thing.

I had a match this afternoon, assessment for 6 to 5. I had two ARs one of which is a very new Ref who is only on her third line.in my pre match brief I stress them to wait and see on offsides, and early on in the game she puts a flag up for guy who is offside but walking back not interfering...

    'Mine! Mine!'

It's not baffling, players believe that it's actually in the laws that nothing other said players name can be uttered when they get the ball, unless of course they are telling you what they think of your last decision. What's important is if the player is shouting or saying stuff to distract...

    Fastest sending off ever

So I had a cup game this afternoon and we kick off as normal, ball gets played back to defenders who knock it around a bit before passing to DM. Cue opposition player lunging in about knee high making the term brutality seem soft, straight red issued without so much as a quibble from anyone. I...

    Keeper has control or not?

You answered your own question so to speak, it you think the keeper gad control of it, he had control of it.

    BOOTS!

The question I would ask is simply why would you want to wear white boots? You would look like a tit

    Freekick kicked at defender

Ha ha it's standard isn't it that when you make an apparently controversial call the other team score straight of it. I've given trying to explain the laws of the game to players as they still think you're wrong. I'm missing my weekend pembrokeshire football, only get to ref on Wednesday out...

    Mike Dean

Right now I've stopped watching Sky I've realised Mike Dean was spot on. As the keeper touched the ball twice, then it would be a free kick if the ball was in play. Sadly for QPR as it was a defending free kick and the ball has to leave the area to be in play it is therefore not in play when he...

    Mike Dean

It did leave the 18 yard box by some distance so I'm not entirely sure why he ordered it retaken. I would be amazed if he saw the double touch.

    Stuart Atwell

The irony of a ref making a big deal about how poor another ref is despite the fact he himself has recently been demoted isn't lost on me here.
