    Law change - player injuries

Had a couple of questions today about a law change and thought I would get some clarity from my colleagues on Refchat. What is the law change regarding players leaving the fop after an injury?

Probably should have been wider but...

I was running Rb to Rb and had a clear view of both players; I expected the players to be moving towards the penalty area anticipating a cross, there really was no reason for this player to be heading away from the penalty area; however I did see him and slowed my run so we wouldn't collide but...

Probably should have been wider but...

Had an incident today; Red v blue Red player heading towards corner flag in opposite corner to the blue CAR he is being closed down by a blue defender and I am running toward and looking directly at them. The very next moment a red player runs right across my eyeline so all I see is a ugly...

How to take feedback and apply it.

Agree with @Padfoot here, I went 7-6 although did consider 7-5 but whats the rush and why do you need the added pressure. 40 games, 6 observations, 2 x LOTG assessments, 5 AR appointments. what if you get injured? And if you don't get the games due to weather you have to go looking for them?

My first taste of aggressive verbal abuse!

Also to flip this around; as a referee how would you deal with this scenario? Obviously you have a possible club official or spectator verbally/physically abusing your NAR but you also have the aggressive reaction of your NAR?

    Dissent

Thanks for all the replies; it seems the consensus is to do nothing and move on

    Dissent

Here is why I asked the question; When you get told about racisim or other inappropriate comments between players that you don’t hear directly you would depending on the nature of that comment add it to your match report as a way of making the league aware So while I doubt my NAR said it it...

    Dissent

The player said “you’re such a retard”; said after the NAR has given a throw against his team

    Dissent

Of course but after the game in the changing room, my NAR told me he said “you’ve been moaning all game I think you need to be quiet now” Good enough for me We move on to the next game

    Dissent

At a throw in today my NAR signalled for what I assumed to be a foul throw but he called me over and told me he had just been called a name by home team 3, as such I cautioned the home 3 for dissent but as doing so the player suggested the NAR had told him to f****** shut up. Obviously I...

    Substitution

At half time yesterday the referee and I, as a AR, were discussing substitutions. The competition rules stated 5 from 7 substitutes can be used but is there a limit to the number of substitutes that can be made at any one time, ie is it limited to 3 My view was that as long as the correct...

    Running the line Sunday

@Men in Black - no bother, I have no interest in "outing" anyone and anything said on this type of forum remains on this type of forum, No point having anonymous usernames etc if anyone can come on and identify us

    Running the line Sunday

@Men in Black, I am pretty sure I officiate on the same leagues as you (its a hunch just based from comments in your posts) and if that's the case I know the referee you are assisting this weekend and also the two teams and as such it will be a decent game for sure. FWIW the game you have been...

    Running the line Sunday

@Men in Black - This is your refereeing journey and you will take out as much as you are willing to put in. I know its an old cliche but it is so true. My refereeing journey follows a similar path to yours, i was playing up until my mid 30's then ran a couple of teams and as this all came to...

    Wrong Decision

Game yesterday, blue v reds. Tight, competitive affair which ended 3-2 to blues. Nothing really of note occurred although when looking back I probably did miss a couple of mandatory cautions. However, there was one incident that I wanted some feedback on. Blue attacker & Red defender both...
