    Chris Wood caution.

Chris Wood was subbed off for New Zealand in the 62nd minute against Fiji after scoring a hat trick. He then received a yellow card for signing autographs while the game was going on. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/16BHwro3co/ What we cautioning for? USB - Shows a lack of respect for the...

    Millwall Vs Stoke

I watched it in real time, and now I've taken my black and white tinted glasses off (which agreed with the penalty as Stoke are a team we need to drop points), I think it's probably more mutual holding. But can see why it's given. There's a little more on the attacker for me which is in guessing...

    Advantage but offside

    Yes

    Offside position

For me, you just need to identify at what point you class either player as becoming active. If you felt A1 didn't become active in any way, there's no offence. Remember, most players don't understand offside, so they just see a player moving and claim an offence when in reality, there's...

    IFAB Law Changes for 2025/26

Me too because I guarantee there'll be a few moans in any game I do of about 16s and over.

    Arms up at throw ins

"Touch not a foul/push", "letting him know he's there" tend to work for me.

Ladies Overhearing intending to injure a player

Obvious easy USB that can't be ignored. Well done, and I hope every other referee would do the same.

    4th match. First 11 a side.

I'm a catcher. If I mess it up first time, I just do it again. I also use a 50p, which seems to make me quite unique, from what I've encountered so far.

    4th match. First 11 a side.

If it's a close call as well as to who it touched last before going out of play, a confident shout of "looked like it hit red last from my angle" does the trick for me. Being close enough to play to be credible helps massively as well.

    Promotion Pathway struggles…

Yes, County FA. Google Derbyshire FA and ring the number it gives you. If he doesn't answer himself, ask for Reece.

    Promotion Pathway struggles…

How have you chased Reece? If not already, ring the FA. I find if I need to speak to him, I can usually get through on the phone. Fellow Derbyshire referee here (if it wasn't obvious). Hope you manage to get hold of him!

    Open Age Off the ball...

But it's ok to wave play on when an attacker jumps for the ball and is pushed or held by the defender as the ball sails over their heads, with neither of them having any chance of getting anywhere near the ball? Because let's be honest, that happens more often than it should...

    Start Watch/Whistle or Whistle/Start Watch.

Blow whistle, start watch. If false start, don't reset. Check watch after about 30 seconds.

    Wolves vs Arsenal

In conclusion for me, in law it's a red, football expects a yellow. I did vote red. As referees, we can't win.

    Derby vs Sunderland

I can't quite work out, but could there be a handball offence by the attacker? Otherwise, maybe the 4O has called a foul on the defender on the edge of the penalty area. I can't see anything else that would rule it out.
