    Fitness tests

According to our county the first one will be in June. From there one there is a test per mine that till I guess October. But these tests are only a requirement for those either trying to get promoted to level 4 or higher

    Foreign Referees in EPL

Not if you are outside the country, hence no jurisdiction. But that being said, it will cast a very very very dim light. Especially that there has been some growing criticism regarding how much of a development and improvement to the standards of the current crop of referee his presence has...

Dutch Referee Blog - Indirect free kick and why you need to raise your arm

I can totally understand, I had one such moment 2 seasons ago. My brain froze, and it was one of those things that you thing there is no way this is happening in my game and I was being observed on the day as well :cry:. So ball gets passed to the keeper, he picks it up in the goal area i...

Dutch Referee Blog - Indirect free kick and why you need to raise your arm

and the reason I quoted the law directly to show you the exact wording and show you other potential scenarios with the IDFK! (that and I was lazy to just type it all as well :p:p)

Dutch Referee Blog - Indirect free kick and why you need to raise your arm

M8 I personally would never judge a fellow MIB, and I know many others won't. I can understand where you are coming from with regards to reading the laws, unfortunately there is no way around it. You have to read them and learn them and constantly keep up to date on them. Use Jan's blog weekly...

    Persistent Infringement

Now be honest, have you been winding him up prior to that incident? ;) All jokes aside, you are right he would be wrong if the caution was for time wasting but as it was UB and probably using the pretext of not respecting the spirit of the game! Hence the vagueness of the wording to offer...

4th game & best game yet..

Don't worry about it mate, we are not all as articulate as we would like to think. Especially in the heat of the moment, with time and practice you'll learn to slow things down in your head even when the whole world world seems to be falling apart. The examples you've given tell me you are...

    Body Language and Communication

That's the right attitude to propel you a long way not just in refereeing but in life so stick with it :) and yes we are in way like a big family in here with minty and finest being the grandparents:p; yes we have our arguments maybe a bit rowdy and noisy at times but for the most of it we stick...

    Wigan - Man City

I agree RC: out of control and potentionally endangering the safety of the opponent. If a similar tackle was on a city player; pep would be spitting fire to get the Wigan player off!! Don't know why he was so animated! Here's the clip for reference

A couple of lines drawn by a 7 year old.

I agree, and there is no shaming any assistant referee for something like that! There is no way they can call sth like that in realtime.

How often are ref courses run?

It's up to you since from the age of 17, if I'm not mistaken, you are free to choose either. I personally would recommend to start with youth football. Get used to what you were taught in the course and slowly develop your character before taking the plunge into OA.

3 games in & im not convinced..

Lighten up and ease it a bit on yourself mate! :) the most important aspect you have is that you are self critical, aware of your shortcomings (i think of them as development points to work on) and that will be your best asset. Unfortunately you rarely get "praised" in football as a referee but...

    Misconduct Report

Certainly keep this in your mind and stay alert next time around, try to ensure that you have a clear view of the majority of the pitch and players as they leave to ensure all is well. But I would still put in a report just as @RustyRef outlined, for all you know someone else witnessed from the...
