    QPR v Burnley

Free kick for the first goal. Only seen live at the game, looked clear as day to me, but apparently there was no contact, but the 'wrinkle' here is Burnley player admitted it was a 'dive' presumably to avoid a yellow, but ref (Peter Banks) still gave the fk to Burnley. In that situation at our...

    Chelsea goal WSL last weekend

Anyone see the first goal? Refereeing team won't be happy. Missed offside is poor (clear view, her side) but wonder if the more debateable 'error' led to the missed offside. Free kick 1M or so from edge of Reading area. Fouled player still on the floor, ref looking at her, but allows Chelsea...

    Cold!

Astro tomorrow off now, that's probably me done for Xmas now

    Cold!

Interesting - all seems gritted in NW London and Bucks borders - main roads and most sides from my trip out today.

    Pre-match warm up

Personally find that 1 lap jogging, 5 mins stretches, some shuttles and 1 or 2 widths of the pitch at slow, medium, sprint thirds works for me. Most refs/ARs I've been out with do that or less, a few a bit more, but not that many at the levels I do. Personally the less I warm up he more I ache...

    Pre-match warm up

Well said, although not all 60+ are at the same fitness levels or indeed 18 year olds, but get your point!

    Cold!

And its off. Weds lunchtime , again on astro, my next booking.

    Cold!

I guess its the same with many of these 'self regulated postponements", always at the mercy of how much the home team really want to play. Mine obviously does as no further word yet.

    Cold!

"Light covering of snow" - must be lighter than in my garden! Checking again at 2.00pm

    Cold!

Well, I've woken to a fair covering of snow, so if RR correct, then I expect an e mail in the next few hours!

    Cold!

Some light snow predicted overnight, but none tomorrow where the stadium is. I have astro at home and the frost hasn't cleared from it for a few days now, not sure if playing on frost damages it as well? Bit of straw clutching going on there - sure I will enjoy it, if it goes ahead (He says...

    Cold!

Have a line tomorrow evening on astro so should be on - Aggghhh that's going to be nippy! Just back from QPR with long trousers umpteen layers, scarves and woolly hat and I was still cold and that was a 1.00pm kick off!:( Admittedly, slow as I am, even I don't actually sit down for 90' on the...

    Junior/Youth U14 Red card

Player gets sent off, its obviously the payers fault, but its always the ref that ruined the game or lost control. In this case, all new referees have to remember the golden rule, if you don't see it, you can't act on it. Numerous examples down the years on here, but you simply can't guess or...

Managers/Coaches asking not to put cards through

Pretty sure you could apply a couple of these and call it a caution and if you want to be really picky, call it 'confrontation' and its a red! Caution offences include (but are not limited to): • clearly/persistently not respecting the confines of their team’s technical area • delaying the...

    Dealing with verbal abuse

Not surprised to hear that. There is one AR on the Championship, who has an 'unusual' style, and I can't recall his name, but this season he turned to the crowd and said something or made a gesture and the crowd responded with "We love you lino, we do" - can't imagine the observer would have...

    Dealing with verbal abuse

Following on from BigCat, the comedic element is always there from the 'crowd' Isthmian U18s this week. After a goal is scored, bit of argy bargy between GS and GK - escalated into full scale 'handbags' - no punches thrown but 2 easy yellows for AAA - Ref asked me for GS number as he had lost...

What's the latest time in a game you've given a card?

I was AR when a player walked up to the ref after the game and said he was "S***" - easy red card. A few days ago =, team winning by 3 goals, FK awarded to oppo, 2 minutes to go, player boots the ball 50 yards away. Manager had the gall to query the yellow card at FT as well!

    Wilson Lloris

LOTG sums it up nicely "All players have a right to their position on the field of play; being in the way of an opponent is not the same as moving into the way of an opponent"

Liverpool v City - Klopp sending off

PGMOL said it would have been disallowed for the challenge on the Liverpool GK anyway - which I agree with, for what's it worth!

    Wigan v Cardiff

What blockage, is that why the goal height was wrong?
