Something that is very common in these instances is that clubs will appeal the red card even if they know it will be dismissed straight away, delays the punishment and is a bit of a loophole.
Similar to James' but on the line. I was AR1 on a game last season and the home bench always complained about assistants waiting to flag for offside because it "tires their players more than needed".
In the second half the home team were attacking in my half and there was a perfect wait and see...
I'm purely just waiting till we know what is actually going on with the kits for next season. So many rumours going around, it would be nice for the FA to tell us if we have another year with Nike or not.
A while ago I heard an interesting rumour about him since he retired, and now all of his recent media escapades make more sense.
Class referee, just a shame he's bringing down the opinion/reputation of referees with him.
One of my favourite ways to do this if you have a younger AR is to say that "as a development opportunity I will stick Timmy bench side and if I go down you'll come on as the more experienced referee". Obviously this is dependant of A: you not going down B: you being able to sell the other AR as...
From this thread alone I can see where you've seen that, but he's been on here over a month on here and has just qualified. Probably very new to the objectivity we always have as referees.
In my county it is a general rule of thumb that you don't get a semi or a final 2 years in a row, with a few exceptions. I know plenty of referees who had a final one year and then had probably the best season they've ever had the next, but still not receiving a second. Our appointments officer...
That is somehow more shocking than the actual performance then, would love to see the grounds that it was rejected on as they would've had a very strong case here.
I think as far as legally there isn't anything to stop this. They are commentating over the game and while it may seem critical, I don't think he says anything directly offensive to the referee which is where the issues could arrive.
I have noticed that the game will most likely be replayed as...
As someone who unfortunately had their worst game (for various reasons) as an official recorded and put on youtube, I do feel sorry for anyone that has a stinker on these games. Haven't been able to watch the video yet, but if it is as bad as described it might be more than just a bad day at the...
Why these goals haven't been banned by IFAB yet is beyond me as they have never been useful in a match situation. Only cause chaos for everyone involved.
Ok I might differ from some others, but I wouldn't really care if he saw that as disrespectful as he had done nothing to deserve any respect by that point. Sounds like you did most things right, but I would probably have slapped a caution in his face by that point.
All of us have said...
Now will everyone enforce it from when they collect it on the floor or what they get up and are able to play it? Similarly what about when an attacker is stood in front of the gk on the edge of the box?
Keep your head up is the first bit of advice, assuming you haven't seen that team since last season, they probably won't remember you. Sounds like you did everything you needed to in the previous fixture, so there's nothing they should be able to hold against you. Start the game as you would any...
