I feel that some refs still give yellow in the hope VAR will save them if wrong rather than give red and look like an idiot if told to review. Safe refereeing. Especially with recent events such as the Fulham incident.

As much as I can see where youre coming from, every team does this type of "gamesmanship". You can argue why do teams makes subs in the 93rd and 94th minutes of 5 added on when leading by a goal, what impact are they actually making? Teams almost always do it to break up momentum.

I appreciate that. I've been at that kind of level. But with 4 officials, an assistant and 4th on that side, and between the 3 of you, you cant tell who threw that ball in for sure, something has gone wrong. And surely 1 of those 3 (even the assistant far side) can see its gone in to the crowd.
