    Consistency of tolerance in EPL

Joelinton cautioned yesterday (missed why as was working whilst trying to watch it too)... But I did see the card issued. From the yellow being branded, Joelinton then proceeded to applaud the ref a couple of times and for a couple seconds each time, even directing the latter straight at him...

    Darren England VAR

Surely if he made a grave error, such as that, yesterday, he would have been stood down today to avoid any controversial decisions.

    Brentford v Man Utd

I feel that some refs still give yellow in the hope VAR will save them if wrong rather than give red and look like an idiot if told to review. Safe refereeing. Especially with recent events such as the Fulham incident.

    Brentford v Man Utd

To be fair, Fernandes needs excuses. He used the ref bumped into him previously. He could just admit that the pressure gets to him and maybe he should pass the ball to someone else next time. I half expected Mbeumo to take it to be honest. He is so calm under pressure and a very good penalty...

    Brentford v Man Utd

As much as I can see where youre coming from, every team does this type of "gamesmanship". You can argue why do teams makes subs in the 93rd and 94th minutes of 5 added on when leading by a goal, what impact are they actually making? Teams almost always do it to break up momentum.

    Brentford v Man Utd

As you all know, im a Brentford fan, and I was massively expecting a red. To see yellow, shocked. To see VAR not change it (or even send him to monitor) i was even more shocked.

    Liverpool v Southampton

Ones on social media. I know lots too but there were loads of posts, especially on Facebook groups that appear as ones i may like (but have zero interest in).

    Liverpool v Southampton

Im referring to the general "we know the game" public.

    Brentford v Man Utd

Speechless as to how Nathan Collins has stayed on the pitch. Pulls Mbeumo down for a penalty (think assistant gave it via coms as was very delayed) but definitely a penalty. But only cautions and VAR backs it up as "he didn't have possession of the ball". Without the pull he has the ball, on the...

    Liverpool v Southampton

Except there are some saying referee should have used common sense as he is young.

    Liverpool v Southampton

Ekitike showing a lot of immaturity tonight. Sent off for two yellows. First was punching the ball in the air with what was deemed as clear sign of dissent. Second was taking his shirt off after scoring the winner- in a league cup tie against championship side Southampton*. Not the world cup...

    Marseille v PSG

I can assure you, camera followed him the whole time, that after being sent off he literally walked through the gate and stood exactly where he is in the photo I attached above. No creeping or anything.

    Marseille v PSG

Been watching the end of this match and saw former BHA manager sent off on 90 minutes. He leaves the technical area but literally stands behind the dugout even "banging" the roof of the dugout. He is literally managing the team from behind the dugout with assistance from his own team. Then, as...

    FCSB v Aberdeen

That is extremely harsh... Are you stopping a promising attack when the attacker has fallen to the floor? He was falling before the supposed handball occurred. There were absolutely no other attacker nearby. Both seemingly tugging at each other so, for me, both sets of arms in natural position...

    Bedford Town vs Telford United

I appreciate that. I've been at that kind of level. But with 4 officials, an assistant and 4th on that side, and between the 3 of you, you cant tell who threw that ball in for sure, something has gone wrong. And surely 1 of those 3 (even the assistant far side) can see its gone in to the crowd.

    Bedford Town vs Telford United

That may be the case... It can happen. Id be asking myself "where did the original ball go?".. In this case, it clearly went into the crowd. So surely, by that working out, unless youre 100% certain the AM done it and you saw him do it, you have to take caution that the ball has been returned...

    Consistency of tolerance in EPL

Kelleher was cautioned for DR around 50th minute in the Brentford v Aston Villa. He was just about to run to kick it. He didn't waste any time. If continued for the entire season, I'm all for it. I hated the 87th minute useless cautions where they've done it all game. But some cases I've seen so...

    BRE vs AVL

I wrote this on another forum. No Brentford player up the other end, clearly heading to at least Martinez, and gives dropped ball to Brentford. Thought the free kick on Martinez was soft, if at all it actually was one. Hes come from a few yards out towards the 2-3 players, misses the ball, and...

    Wall or a fence?

Teams will just start making 1, 2 or even 3 walls now. If they space their walls 1.8m from each other, no player can stand between them and they'll be within 1m of one of the walls, at least. Keeper may be slightly unsighted but can work on that. Have one wall in front of another, and one to the...

    Championship week 1 incidents

In the Leicester game, just now, how has the Sheffield Wednesday player avoided a yellow for that deliberate handball? Ref was blindsided, fair enough. Obviously either the assistant or 4O has given it on his behalf via coms, but surely the correct sanction would also be a yellow?
