    Ref equipments

As someone who could afford to buy comms if I wanted - I agree they shouldn't be allowed at lower levels! I'm lucky enough to nearly always have NARs now, and frankly I don't want comms. It gives me an unfair advantage, and to be perfectly honest if I miss a KMD I need to learn from it. Over...

DOGSO Red Card in the box - What S code?

Well if it’s DOGSO it’s definitely not S1! Was it DOGSO because of a handball or a “normal” foul? That will answer your question. Where the DOGSO red is given on the pitch doesn’t affect the code you report it as.

    Violent Conduct?

Follow up: Just thought of something else. If abusive language has been used, then if you do go for VC then the abuse would still have to be reported seperately with an ER I believe.

    Violent Conduct?

Sounds like VC to me. "Uses or attempts to use excessive force or brutality". Let's be honest, running 50 yards and grabbing someone near the neck isn't intended to be friendly. Combine this with the push (which sounds more like an intended strike), I'd be going VC. If selling that is too...

    Academy Refereeing

Hi, In terms of academy games, I only know 2 methods and those are through your local RA (how mine are done), or the CFA appointing them. However, generally speaking they will appoint slightly more experienced referees to academy games, particularly if Cat 1 academies are involved (and at older...

    Women’s FA Cup

This shows how sad/funny/dedicated (delete as you wish) I am because I just searched up the round dates for the 2nd round and checked if I have plans 😆 I don't so none will be made! I think it was a bit of pot luck in a way to be honest because I got 4 FA/CFA games last season while most got 1...

    Women’s FA Cup

Congrats! Presuming it's the Milbrook vs Bournemouth game? I was secretly really annoyed because I got a qualifier (2nd qual. round) last season and nothing this season 😂

    Substitute sin-bins

Are we the same person? 😂 I did one for that, and the other for a second caution (SPA), just about avoided DOGSO

Extraordinary Incident Report – Matchday Conduct and Lack of County FA Response

100%. Although on that occasion I must admit they were good with it and I didn’t need to contact them as I had a phone call and email first thing the next morning.

Extraordinary Incident Report – Matchday Conduct and Lack of County FA Response

Unfortunately the lack of resources mean you won’t be contacted about ERs very often. I’ve submitted around 6 or 7 iirc in 2 and a half years, and the only time I was contacted was when I was the subject of discriminatory abuse.

    Substitute sin-bins

This has happened to me twice interestingly. Bet you can guess what happened to both of them 😂

    Argy bargy at corner kicks

At the first corner of every game, I give a loud "nothing silly" warning. If I still spot something, I'll actually shout the players' numbers and tell them I'm watching. Any more, and I'll make the necessary decision(s) when the ball comes in. I rarely have to get to that point. I have never had...

    Coping after a match

Others have already shared great advice so I won't bother repeating it. If it helps though, we all have moments like this. It's getting on for nearly a month since my last game now, as I hadn't missed it over the summer, came back and got a lot of games done very quickly, and felt a bit rubbish...

    Silver Molten Dolphin Valkeen

I tried a Valkeen once, and as I hadn't realised this, I actually surprised myself when I blew it for kick-off, and probably made the poor bugger taking the kick go partially deaf for the game. Came in handy when a few hands were raised though!

    Merseyside Derby

It wasn't relevant here anyway but obviously penalties and prolonged VAR checks/delays are included

    U14's - SNAP HIM!!

The one thing I was thinking about was the fact it's Sunday league! At Dog & Duck, you probably would be ok with a yellow and a very stern word putting him on his last chance for any nonsense. I did think that at first to be honest. First thought was VC, but obviously can't be that if no...

    U14's - SNAP HIM!!

Genuine question, and something that popped into my mind straight away, is there an argument for a red card (rather than a caution) here? I'm honestly not sure on this one, so I'm curious. Edit: Interestingly, I have just seen you could very easily justify a red if a team official said this...

    Ladies Dealing with head injuries

Gut instinct is usually right with head injuries. I had a nasty one in a youth game a few weeks ago where a player got smacked in the face by the ball. I checked on them and got zero response despite the fact they were looking at me (although they didn't look focused). I stopped the game there...

    Greek Referee

I’d imagine they will ask you to confirm your level in Greece, and consult with the Greek FA, in order to inform their own decisions

Referee’s Procedure in Case of a Mutual Altercation Between Players During the Match"

Obviously @one has got you thinking here, and rightly so. One thing I'd add - I'm presuming you are at grassroots level? If so, was an advantage really necessary here in the first place? Considering the ball is in the PA, with the GK, would the safe option regardless of handbags just be give the...
