The Ref Stop
Funnily enough I mentioned in front of another National list referee that I thought the caution (second caution in this case) was entirely appropriate as it was very clearly an unsporting act and he said he would have been tempted instead to hold up the game and make said player go and get the boot for his opponent like a naughty school boy. Would be intrigued to see how that went down.

Why isn't he stopping play when the offending team have position?
He does ultimately stop it while the offending team have possession, but it takes him a while so he's probably not actually realised himself immediately what's happened - or it took him a while to register what happened and decide a caution was appropriate.

Thought he stopped play for a foul at first.

More importantly, for this forum, where was the restart from, and did he signal IDFK?
