Hi all

Couple of incidents I think I could have dealt with better. 1st one is time wasting, away team 1 up and the underdogs going from league position and the keeper was walking to retrieve the ball then walking back, then selecting where he was putting ball down, I asked him to speed it up 2 or 3 times but felt afterwards a caution might have been needed, for the game and for both teams to show I was aware of it.

2nd, game everyone was walking off and one lad looked directly at me and said feffing Sh-te that ref. Now by this time I had relaxed, thinking game over and was taken aback by this comment and feel it probably should have been a RC, thoughts?

Where is the keeper walking to and from, off the pitch to collect the ball? If so just stop your watch and make a show of it so everyone knows no time is being wasted.

A: Probably VAR’s fault.

On the second one, it entirely depends on the way it was said, how public and personal it felt etc.
For me, in 99% of situations, somebody saying 'f*cking sh*te that ref' is getting a caution for dissent as opposed to a red for offensive, insulting or abusive language, but it's all in the opinion of the referee and we're entitled to have our own tolerance levels.
What you can't do, is ignore it.

Hi

I didn't intentionally ignore it, just totally caught me off guard. A good learning for me, it ain't over till it's over
 
The ole shoe lace needs to be done up time waster i dont buy into this rubbish i tell them before ko in my pre-amble to tie them up - not saying i dont ever allow this but there is a time and place not when a team is hanging on for a result in final few minutes.
 
If someone comes up to me and quietly says ‘f-ing ****e that ref after the game’s conclusion, I’m probably thanking them for their input and saying ‘all the best’. If they carry on, then I can consider disciplinary action 🤷‍♂️

personally i report virtually anything and everything to the county FA over many years ive never had them say thanks but no need to reports x y z in fact quite the opposite more like "carry on what you're doing" either they love the money i bring them in fines dished out or im doing an ok job , possibly both !
 
I give red to that kid who cussed. Abusive language. doesn't matter if its after the game. There is still action needed to be taken. Keeper yellow at first sight. Be harsh on him forit forst time. Its pretty obvious he is time wasting. Or i'd maybe hand a yellow after a warningfor him to pick up the pace.
