Interesting one today, U18s game, blue v white .
White's are attacking, get fouled but I signal advantage. I don't notice the CAR then immediately flag offside.... White's score, I then clock the offside so call it back for the foul saying no advantage gained as offside straight after.
Am I correct?

It's slightly ambiguous from how you have described it. It seems most likely the foul occurred before the offside offence, in which case your actions were correct. But if the offside offence occurred before the foul then the offside should have been penalised. The CAR's flag came after the foul, but there is a possibility their flag was delayed from when the offside offence occurred.

At the risk of making this thread go to 5 pages, I put forward a hypothetical and slightly change the description.

Offside was after the advantage, on the forward pass 2 secods after I signalled and shouted advantage, and 4 seconds after the foul.

DFK for foul or IFK for offside?

This has came up at plenty of development evenings I’ve been to. Thing the only answer we got was that there isn’t a one rule fits all answer.

Whether that’s changed, I’ve no idea

Offside was after the advantage, on the forward pass as I was signalling.
I’m going to say it depends and there is still not enough info here to evaluate the call.

If the potential advantage you saw was a pass to that OSP player, then absolutely good call to bring it back as the advantage wasn’t there.

If the potential advantage you saw was the player with the ball going in on goal for a great scoring opportunity, and he instead foolishly passed to an OS player, then the advantage was there and he made a poor choice to squander the advantage. In that case, I would not go back—we don’t make up for the player’s mistake.

Its much more simple. Foul on player 1, played advantage as he passed to (offside) player 2 who scored. Flag up, back for the DFK

But did the advantage happen? Was the played who was fouled off balanced/inconvenienced by the challenge?

If he had perfect balance and played the ball to someone offside, then it should really be offside imo
