I have to say my first ever whistle was an acme thunder and I still use it today, I even bought a new one as a spare.

Both my flags are chequered but yellow and orange for senior and non senior, my plain ones have an orange strip along the bottom for senior so I don't think it really matters but I will never purchase diamond flags, I think they're ugly for starters haha! But I just don't like them.
