Was inevitable people would conflate, even though the deceiving a match official protocol only allows for handling to be punished if scored directly.

Exactly right James. Can’t even compare the two, but people like the author do & then they will complain that Referees and the EFL are inconsistent. Makes my blood boil so it does!!
