Hi all,

Hope you don't mind the random email, but I am sure I am not the first, and won't be the last to suffer from the virus.

So, I am doing the 7-5 promotion this season, however managed to catch COVID a week and a half back (freedom after tonight!!!!). Not refereeing this weekend as think it would be a bad idea.

My main question is of advice to build up the lung capacity and fitness, and when you think it would be safe to return. I know it is different for everyone, but genuinely missing it!!

Anyone got any first hand experience and advice on this?

Had COVID a couple of months ago and was asymptomatic. After COVID, when running my usual 4k i went from around 19 mins to about 20:15, but i was able to catch up to pre-Covid fitness within 3-4 weeks. I started running straight after coming out of self-isolation but as mentioned above I wasn't ill with COVID.

I had it a few weeks ago. I use an exercise bike at home and felt a little unfit on my first ride back, but I think it was more to do with not doing exercise for just under 2 weeks, rather than the actual illness. On my first game back, I felt fine, just really achy legs after pretty much not using them for the isolation period! I was only quite ill with it for a couple of days though
