Changing County FAs

The Referee Store
Having just done this, I would start with the RDO at your old county FA. They asked me to update my address on Wholegame to the new address, and then based on that they put me in touch with the new county RDO who then asked me to finish my registration at that point.

That is the way it's meant to work I think. In my case I ended up speaking to the new county RDO who then sorted it with my previous county - so perhaps if they both know it will get sorted one way or another!

In the instance I haven't moved houses, just trying to move CFAs, as I am on the border between the two of them. Is there a way of doing it without having an awkward conversation with the previous RDO?

You could try starting with the new RDO then, but he may still require permission from the previous RDO to "take" your registration...

Since we are between seasons I very much doubt an RDO can insist you re-register with the same county you did last season, provided you really are in a location where you can choose.

I live in London and there are at least three CFAs that cover my location. I moved between seasons no problem.

You can join 2 FAs. One will be your parent FA, and you’ll be an associate of the other.

My parent CFA is Berks and Bucks, but I’m an associate of Bedfordshire as I referee on their County Girls League (they have 20ish Milton Keynes teams, and they struggle to cover those fixtures).

I've done this twice. Needs a bit of input from both RDOs. Contact them by email and CC them both in and if you've not heard anything for a while chase it up.

CFAs are notoriously territorial and typically it is difficult to move if you haven't changed address. In most places there isn't overlap as your address is either in a county or it isn't. It is different in the South East as London extends into the home counties and vice versa, and the AFA operates across those areas as well.
