My U15s game recently home side turned up only had eight and the away side had twelve so they decided between them that two away players would join the home team, the game was a bit of a farce as team who had twelve turn up were far far stronger and 10-0 at HT.

At HT two players go back to original team and another two (possibly the best two players) join the side 10-0 down, one of them had scored twice but was messing about a fair bit but it was all good fun.

29.40 on the clock in a 30.00 minute half he gets slid through one on one with GK but still 35/40 yards out on a hat-rick, i look at my watch and four long blows on the whistle FULL TIME

The parents players and manager from both teams laughing at this lad who was denied a hat-rick and thanked me for doing it.

Was good to know still can have good banter between players and officials.

Wait so you blew 20 seconds early when a player was through on goal?

Love the sportsmanship here. When one team lend players to another, I don't think it matters to them or it should matter to anyone else if you blow 5 second day early knowing it actually adds to the spirit of the fun environment. If they wanted to that player could have had a double hat trick if they didn't lend players to the other side.

I did a futsal girls school game a couple of years ago with one team short and the other 3 or 4 subs. It ended up 54-0. I approached the 'teacher' from the strong team at half time and suggested to lend players to the other side it would give everyone more game time and a better challenge. Her response was, I want more goals why would I do that? I said, to teach your students what sportsmanship looks like and what school sports is all about. I walked off because I knew the message won't get through.

wow 54-0 did you run out of space on your scorecard?
I have 12 squares for scorers number and 12 for corresponding minute. After 2 goals were scored in the first minute, I stopped taking jersey numbers and changed the minute square to the old four vertical lines and a horizontal line crossing them for every five goals. I ended up with just enough room. Adapting to game condition as any referee should ;)

I disagree with some posts here. I would have done the same and have done the same and have received respect for the decision as well. Well done.
