FA Apology! Yeh right!

The Referee Store
I was trying to write a reply to GraemeS but my phone was playing silly buggers, and then wouldn’t let me delete the original post.

I do t think the behaviour of the FA in regards to this situation and alleged cover ups etc is related to refereeing, but, as the FA is the governing body of our “national sport” then I find it worrying and distasteful.

The FA are supposed to uphold the standards of Football in England, but if they can’t act in a responsible, professional manner when it comes to accusations of sexist and racial abuse then what else isn’t being dealt with effectively?

And in response to part of GraemeS first post. I find it worrying that people think that they either don’t have the right to comment on, or that their opinions don’t matter on a particular subject because of their race, gender, etc.

Yes, as a white man I will never encounter the same type of abuse as Ms Aluko et al, but that doesn’t mean that my opinion on the matter (I think it is disgusting) is worth less.

Would people refuse to comment on the holocaust because they aren’t Jewish (or meet any of the other criteria the Nazis used to determine who went to the camps)?

I don't think I said I didn't have a right to comment? I said I didn't feel appropriately placed to comment - in part due to my race, gender, etc., but also in this case because I didn't feel like I knew enough about the case in question or the relevant details. I certainly felt that suggesting I was obliged to comment as Sheffield did when complaining that no one had commented was not fair, and was replying directly to that accusation.

Apologies, I misread your post.

I agree that you aren’t obliged to comment on anything that you don’t want to.

No-one had to comment if they so wished, thats your choice, I hope everyone doesn't agree with me, thats what debate is all about. My apologies if it was in the wrong section, thats my bad! It was highly relevant at the time to our national body being pulled over the coals for their management of these situations as that behaviour proliferates through the whole structure as they set the leadership agenda! Its one this getting a judgement wrong (twice), its something completely different attempting to hush something up with what the MPs called a bribe!
Anyone been sacked yet or have they all shuffled their chairs??
