Young referees story

Quite right, Sheffield's Finest.
A mentor would be helpful to the young referee by advising about looking the part and dealing with disciplinary issues in a way which brings a more positive outcome.
Once football resumes more mentors are needed in every county, please, guys! Thanks.

The Referee Store
I find some of the criticism of him here a bit harsh and unfair. He is only 16 and has a lot to learn, both refereeing wise and in general life. A lot of one's player management skills are developed from general life lessons.

A different angle to it. In the clip he is refereeing an open age game. At that age, where I am I have seen that very rarely appointed and have never seen it or heard of it done without an expereienced ref mentor/coach/assessor present. Is it common in the UK? If so then I think whomever does the appointment has failed in his/her duty of care. In the OP games, from the limited fottages, although he looks a confidant young ref, I don't think he is ready for open age.
