The Ref Stop

Worst ever abuse (for me)

@Sheffields Finest At the end of last season I had a fixture running the line on a sunday cup final. A player got binned for giving a t***er gesture (apologies if I'm bypassing the profanity filter - just to give an idea of what was said... definitely haven't had a warning for that before:hmmm:) to the opposition after scoring to make it 4-2.

I have the unenviable job, as I'm benchside, to tell him he must leave the vicinity. He proceeds to say to me 'eff off lino you effing little f**got'.

Here comes the point of what I just said:
In fairness to the FA, he got 6 games for the misconduct offence as well as the 2 for the S6.. However I've seen him play during his suspension, making the whole experience pointless:wall:

Depends on whether he was playing on the same day.

In general a Sunday ban, means only for Sunday football, the player is still free to play on Saturdays or Midweek.

The Ref Stop
There was a certain player that whatever game i turned up to referee and he was playing he was a ****. Full weight, no holes barred ****, he spent half of season banned but he never changed, same sh1t different game... You can't educate pork, it wasn't me, it was that brain cell depletion once you blow the whistle, he fell out with everyone, even his own team thought he was a joke... Good player but nightmare to referee without him coming into your radar!!! He's older now and lost his pace, hasn't changed him though, Mr Aggressive!!...... and his job....he was a solicitor at a Major law firm locally!! Lovely lad before and after!!!

Although he was banned for misconduct, and that applied to all football not just specific types. It is only suspensions for standard offences that are day specific.

Another FA ruse to get players contributing on both days... If you are banned you should be banned... period!!!
