So is attempting to kick a player no longer a sending off?

I'm an Arsenal fan and Pepe should have been sent off surely? Went to kick the player but missed.

VAR?

“Attempting to kick” has never been a sending off. “Violent conduct” is a sending off. An attempt to kick may qualify as violent conduct, mostly depending on the force of the kick.

(As far as VAR, do we really know it is actually connected in most of those PL games?)

Well forget that. VAR not overruling the penalty is just madness.

Why? It was a penalty, and certainly wasn't an obviously incorrect decision.

I don't think Pepe's action was even close to being violent, a caution each correct although Pepe should have had one himself as he started it.

Luiz pulled his leg out of the way. He dived straight over it.

Yeah I thought it was a penalty too.

Not really sure what sideshow Bob was thinking there. Penalty all day long. Arsenal fan here too
