Defined as; the penalty which hits the crossbar and goes up in the air, only to come down with back spin and enter the goal while the keeper is celebrating the miss.
I almost had one Saturday. The shot hit the top for the cross bar, keeper walked forward to celebrate, ball comes down and back spins towards the goal before keeper gets a shout from team mates and dives full length to scoop the ball out. I had noticed it happening and got back to the line with a good angle to see the ball hadn't gone in.
I was gutted the keeper saved it and it did cross my mind to fraudulently give the goal (preseason game, nobody would have cared!!) but hey... So close but so far away.
