I get confused between the two and which would be a DFK and IDFK and which would be a YC and not.

Advise please

The Referee Store
caution offence - Fakes an injury or exaggerates the seriousness of an injury - haha thats the Torres scenario sorted then!

Penal: Handling the ball, holding, pushing, pulling, charging, tripping, striking or kicking.

Technical: Impeding (obstruction), preventing goalkeeper from releasing the ball, not retiring 2 metres at a throw in, simulation, offside, handling the ball after it has been deliberately kicked to the goalkeeper by a teammate.

With the exception of the last two a caution can be issued for any of these offences.

In general a PENAL offence occurs when a player makes contact with an opponent. Impeding can involve contact but usually when the opponent runs into the player who is impeding him. If it is the other way around it is charging.

Thanks tea leaf that makes sense now. Must rem this for any random questions my assessor my ask me next season. :)
