It's not clear cut for me, but I betcha Callum Wilson will be hoping for this Ref against Norwich on Tuesday

Can't tell whether or not its a penalty but surely it has to be a red card if he's given a penalty.

Was going to comment that, he's too far away.

I'm not convinced it's a penalty, but the video quality isn't exactly helping.

Video quality doesn't help to see if it is a penalty or not, but hard to say it isn't a challenge for the ball so caution is correct.

Going by the letter of the law I think it's a red, because as far as I can see the defender doesn't actually make an attempt to play the ball - he's just ran behind the attacker and (accidentally) tripped him. I think people would expect a yellow here though, as it's not a pull/push etc and it's not a cynical trip where the defender has no possibility of playing the ball.

Ah that's my mate reffing, spoke to him after the game about it.

He said he's seen the defender try and hook the ball with his foot which caused the contact so he's decided it was an attempt to play the ball, hence the yellow.
