More common than you'd think. Often player-managers name themselves but only go on in an emergency.I would imagine that 99% of the time all subs are used in situations where repeat substitutions are allowed? Otherwise what's the point in them being there. But agree that it may be important to know if someone didn't play any part.
Granted it is much less likely with repeated subs, was much more common before, especially when teams named more subs than they were allowed to use.
