Spain v Finland

Went to this one, very enjoyable game.

Couple of thoughts on the 3rd team, it was Friday, 5pm kick off, 3/4 of the pitch and my seat in blazing sunshine - very warm indeed.

Not only did the refereeing team do their warm up entirely in the sun, it was definitely longer than the Championship ones I see every other week!

Good performance overall, one slight glitch for Portugal disallowed goal.

Corner, ball up in the air, eventually went out over the goal line, not really borderline, but needed a flag, ball then crossed in, Portugal score, referee briefly signals goal, flag goes up, referee signals offside (IDFK signal) , AR then correctly signals a corner, referee follows.

Just a bit messier than it should have been with comms in my humble opinion.

Otherwise good performance from the team , as well as Spain, who can certainly play.

Looked like a good showing on the TV.

After the "let's keep our distance and move slowly to flashpoints" approach that is the norm in the premier league now, it is nice at these Euros to see some "normal" top quality refereeing, especially the proactivity with players. Much more instructive for beginners I think;)
