Shin Pads?

Morning Folks, quick question which was asked last night at the preseason youth league meeting. These new micro shin pads are starting to appear and in my opinion, give little protection. The question wasnt really answered well. Are they allowed or are we as referees able to dictate they be changed ?????

No. IFAB have said it is the responsibility of the player to determine if they provide enough and reasonable protection.

As far as ref is concerned you just have to check that they are there.

Had a player with micro pads yesterday. As James says, check they're actually there and then crack on.
They pose no safety risk to other participants, just the idiot who wears them.
