The Ref Stop

Seasonal 5-4

Those who were Observers at Step 2 before the FA went to Scouts will remember that it was £60 a game then, along with travelling expenses at 0.45p per mile. However, I can honestly say that the £10 extra from those Observing at Step 3-6 was fully justified imo because of the extra things required to do, which predominantly was with the MCS/KMI’s, reviewing all from MOAS footage etc, as well as writing/submitting more Extraordinary Incidents Report. However, the increase at Steps 3-6 is most welcome.
I'm on a little bit of a wind up, I think any observer fee increase is largely justified as I know the time it takes! (Or the time that most observers take)

The average time for Level 3-6 Observer Reports to reach MOAS was just over two days in the season just finishing, pretty good as many are in full time employment.
Interesting to compare the fees received during the season with the cost at 45p per mile (HMRC limit) - as I operate within a 50-mile radius, I am out of pocket every season, but that radius is my choice. I guess that some who stay local will be in pocket.

I operate around a 30 mile (one way) limit.

My altruism only stretches so far. ;):D
