Let's not forget that following any religion is a choice. No one is forced to follow any religion. Any decision to follow a "religious requirement" is a choice that the player makes. If you choose to play football, the requirements of Law 4 are not a choice. They are there for valid reasons. If a player insists on wearing items that he/she is "choosing" to wear, they are probably involved in the wrong sport. Safety trumps choice every time - or at least it should.

Can referees still use ear trumpets these days? A few need some selective hearing enhancements I've heard! :devil:
 
Most of us on here need binoculars ! If a religious bracelet is hidden under a sweatband then how would we know it was there unless it became visible. Then the decision has to be made to tell the player to take it off.
